![]() The nice Pietranzano canyon cuts the pink limestone layers at the eastern side of Monti Martani.
  I remember ...Autumn 2011 and winter 2012 was very very dry, so most canyons had no water flowing. I had located some canyons to be explored, but I was waiting for some flow-rate to go through those canyons at their best. I kept waiting and winter was going to pass, and rain was keeping far from Central Italy. On february, unexpected, came the snow. A lot of snow, so much snow to cripple villages and towns, to cause damages to the electricity network, aqueducts, roads,
... 60 years had passed since a snowfall like this!
