Gola di Castelgrande

Right next to the village, a few meters from the last houses, the rocky coast on which it stands Castelgrande has a deep cut. It is the short but pretty canyon in which, in the rainy seasons, flow the emerald waters of the Valle Viva.

I remember ...

The area of Muro Lucano is quite far from our homes. Therefore it is not possible for us to carry out explorations without an overnight stay. So every now and then, as soon as the demands of work and family, health and weather conditions gave us the ok, we went to Muro area for a couple of days.
The exploration of Castelgrande canyon was made in the course of our third trip to that area. On that occasion we also explored the upper part of the Fiumara della Corte.
