cookieless, no-ads, no threats canyon exploring with Michele Angileri Vallone del Tuorno
The name Vallone del Tuorno means "valley of the thunder" and it's due to the permanent rumble of its cascades. In wet seasons it can be heard from outside the valley, and it is all you have to realize there are cascades down there. In fact, looking at the Tuorno you can only see a wide valley covered by the forest, and nothing can do you suspect there is a canyon.
I remember ...The Commune of Savoia di Lucania has equipped paths that allow tourists to go and see the most beautiful cascades of the Tuorno. So at present you don't need to be a canyoneer to taste such a natural beauty. However, I saw no road signs indicating the paths, and nothing made me realize there was a tourist path since I saw its ending at the stream's bed. At present the Tuorno is known only to people living nearby, but it's such a beautiful place and I'm sure it will become famous in a few years. I guess it will also become a classic among the canyoning trails in southern Italy. Copyright © 2002- Michele Angileri. All rights reserved. |
