canyon exploring with Michele Angileri
In our days Valle Scura is a fossil canyon. Water does not flow anymore here (except in case of exceptional floods) and the bed is covered with square stones come down from the not very compact walls, leaves and branches. However, the forms created by water erosion are still there, the beautiful stone corridors and several little cascades, downclimbable and not, all immersed in a beautiful solitary and wooded environment. The right ingredients for a pleasant and relaxing canyoning hike.
I remember ...
The piton on first dryfall showed that someone with mountaineering skills had already gone from there. Tied to the piton, however, there was a static rope, blackened
by mold, on which a succession of knots had been made to help someone go up by hand, without tools. More old knotted ropes were on next dryfalls.
