Fosso di Ripa Rossa (ramo destro)

The Fosso di Ripa Rossa is made of two branches, each offering a pleasant canyoning trail not too challenging, embedded in a deep valley with some pools and waterfalls of low height. But while the left branch is known and attended in the last 20 years, the right branch is essentially unknown.

I remember ...

It has been always known that Fosso di Ripa Rossa has a second branch quite similar to the known one. I knew it from Tullio Dobosz, the one who discovered Ripa Rossa canyon and explored the main branch with Fernanda Vittori. The news spread reaching many people, but still no one was telling of having been there, saying in detail what is in that valley (how many cascades? the highest?). Neither Tullio can do it: he just remembers having been there, he forgot any detail. So, at some point, I had the curiosity to go and see.

I went there in April 2013 and found that actually the right branch is similar to the left branch (but it could not be otherwise, since both branches go down the same mountain, side by side, before merging). I found no sign of previous descents, I had to place a bolt and without my ultralight ropes I would have placed at least one more to be able to go down without circumventing any narrows.
