Fosso di Pratoianni

Rock in intermediate Salto valley is made of marl, pudding and sandstone. It is not a compact set of rock, so hills are subject to landslides and there are no rock walls. But this rock is impermeable, and so streams have more water than the neighbours.

Fosso di Pratoianni is a typical stream of intermediate Salto valley. It goes open and steep to river Salto. It has numerous cascades to be rappelled. In the most rainy season, when most streams are impracticable, those who can't do without a beautiful relaxing day in the wild and water have Fosso di Pratoianni as the ideal destination.

I remember ...

Those were very rainy days. All the streams had a lot of water! From the highway we saw a beautiful waterfall jumping down Castelvecchio and from the road to Pratoianni we could see the nice water jets of Fosso Scendelle.
For a moment we felt the desire to change our destination and go there ... When will we have the chance to have this water again in Scendelle?
It was only one moment, then the will to go in an unknown place won, as usual ...
