![]() cookieless, no-ads, no threats canyon exploring with Michele Angileri Vallone Porto - Ramo destro
![]() The upper Vallone Porto is made of two branches that join 100 m above Nocelle bridge. Main branch is the left one, a deep majestic canyon, grand and beautiful. But the right branch is majestic and beautiful too, with dark narrows reminding the lower Porto, and a very deep and dangerous cascade at the junction with left branch. You can descend the right branch alone, exiting at Nocelle bridge, or continue through lower Porto narrows.
I remember ...During the re-exploration of the upper Porto's main branch I noticed the very high dryfall with which right branch joins to main one. It looked like a fossil cascade, covered by bushes and vegetation, so I thought right branch was not interesting for canyoning: simply another fossil open valley ending on the edge of a rock wall, I thought. Some time later Giuseppe Antonini had a different impression of cascade and the valley above. So one day of winter 2012 he went descending it,
alone. And he was right: there were beautiful narrows but, surprise!, canyon was heavily bolted.
