I remember ...

Until that day I had avoided descending the canyons in Carfizzi area conglomerates in summer: those gorges develop at low altitude and have little or no water flow, so they are perfect in winter or early spring. At Easter, however, the exploration of the Porticello Ravine was skipped because the covid lockdown, and I didn't want to wait for the following winter or spring (when there might have been a new lockdown, as it actually happened). So I proposed to Saverio to take advantage of a temporary drop in temperatures to explore Burrone Porticello and see if the Carfizzi canyons were practicable even in summer.
We found that in that canyon there was a pleasantly cool microclimate, probably due to the water that impregnates conglomerate walls. A few days later, as the summer turned hot again, we repeated the experience at the Burrone di Carfizzi, and there too we spent a very pleasant and cool day.
