canyon exploring with Michele Angileri

Gafaro a Nebbia

The mighty rock of Monte La Caccia captures the attention of those who travel the coast of Calabrian Tirreno sea. It rises very high above the clouds which form everyday here. A bit of attention will show that southern side of Monte La Caccia has a deep and steep rocky valley going down ...
It's the canyon of Gafaro a nebbia, the "valley of the fog", a long descent requiring about 50 rappels.

I remember ...

4 years passed since the first exploration I did with Andrea. Our partnership developed through mountains unknown to canyoning, and through technical resarch.
Now we are so in tune that a hard exploration like this seemed quiet and easy to us.

Photographs in this website show ultralight ropes (6 mm ropes made of high tenacity fibers). Read multimedia book Ultralight ropes canyoning technique to learn how to use them.
