canyon exploring with Michele Angileri

Torrente Acquaniti

On northeastern border of Sila Mounts, Torrente Acquaniti opens its way to sea Ionio through a thick and very compact layer of pudding rock, made mostly of white, grey and pink granite debris. So canyon of Acquaniti has uncommon shapes and colors, majestic and very very beautiful.
Another masterpiece enshrined by the mountains of Calabria.

I remember ...

The amazement and satisfaction for the canyon we were descending accompany to the fatigue getting ahead hour by hour. Canyon was long and it had an infinite chaos of boulders forcing us to a constant searching for the less hard points to downclimb. Continuous downclimbing and uncomfortable rappels were consuming our energies.

The day after was dedicated to rest!
