canyon exploring with Michele Angileri

Riu Flumini Uri

Canyon of Flumini Uri meanders majestic through metamorphic rocks in a landscape of stone, sun and oleanders, by the village of San Vito. On late spring only a little bit of water flows through, appearing and disappearing in the bottom of canyon, and algae fill many of its beautiful pools. Descent is quiet and satisfying.
But in rainy seasons descent of Flumini Uri must be a different story ...

I remember ...

We had planned another descent for that day: a steep stream, with starting 400 meters higher than arrival. But reconnaissance showed us that stream was much less interesting than we supposed. So we decided to explore Flumini Uri.
A wise decision!
