Fosso Calizzano

Fosso Calizzano stream goes down gently through the Albegna hills, surrounded by woods and nearly abandoned fields. It has a couple of steep sections and a few rock steps that require a rope, but most of the descent is done by walking and boulder downclimbing. In short, it's a long hike with difficulty barely above hiking in a beautiful setting.

I remember ...

With this descent, I'd say my trips to discover the Albegna Valley and explore its canyons are at the end. This gentle, ancient, and sparsely populated landscape has gifted me with serenity, beauty and surprises, all peppered with a touch of adventure. Have I seen everything I wanted to see? Maybe not, but I feel a stronger pull towards other places, other types of beauty, other adventures, so...
... goodbye Albegna!
