Abbafrida - Luesu

Near the village of Perdasdefogu there are the famous cascades of Abba Frida and Luesu, joining into one single stream. I'm sorry: photographs and video cannot show how grand is the beauty of the place: Luesu cascade seems to come from an alien world (IMHO is among the icons of Sardinia), while Abba Frida falls down deep and powerful.

Downstream the valley tightens into a canyon featuring more sparkling cascades and big emerald pools surrounded by wild impassable mediterranean forest and bush, far from everywhere.
The cascade of Abba Frida and the downstream canyon make a wild, not easy and rather long canyoning trail.

I remember ...

Rocks and walls surrounded by dense unpassable woods of mediterranean bush, as far as you can see. Rare abandoned cartways ruined by the rain, and far empty roads under a deep blue sky. At sunset the only lights that light up are the stars.

Silence, beauty, awfulness: this is Sardinia I love.
