Torrent Garpo flows through the wild rocky hills of eastern Sila, along a deep valley that in some points becomes a majestic gorge, with beautiful pools, unusually shaped rock peaks, narrows and almost no falls, due to its low slope.

I remember ...

There are at least two things that amaze you as you descend the Chiodo-Garpo. The first is the wilderness, extraordinary and majestic, a primordial world that seems to have never had anything to do with Man.
The second is the evidence of human presence in these places, which were reached daily by daring mule tracks, reaching every fragment of land that was cultivable or could provide some sustenance. Almost invisible remains of water intakes, mills, mule tracks overgrown by vegetation, interrupted by landslides, ...
