Varco della Chianca

The Varco della Chianca is a long canyon that joins to the canyon of Platano. Very near to the Fiumara della Corte the Chianca is quite similar: poor in technical difficulties but rich in majestic views. And it is dry too, because the strong karst character of the area.

I remember ...

Soon after the exploration of Varco della Chianca I published some photos on Facebook, but did not give an indication of the name or the location of canyon. Sardinian friends commented thus: So you came in Sardinia without telling us anything?

To mislead them was of course the great similarity between the Chianca and gorges of the Supramonte. Live I had the same feelings. In particular, the confluence with Platano made me relive the feelings of the arrival in Cala Sisine, with the difference that waiting for me there was not the blue sea of the Gulf of Orosei but the emerald waters of river Platano.
