Fosso Arcą

Monti Prenestini rise east of Rome like a bastion above Roma's flat. Though they are near the metropolis, they preserve a beautiful and wild natural environment, defended by a dense mediterranean bush. As years pass they become wilder, home of wild boars, because a lot of people has given up the works tied to mountain. So the ancient paths are being canceled by the bush.
The villages in Monti Prenestini are very nice, ancient, rich in historical evidences.

Some deep valleys going down Monti Prenestini are interesting to canyoneers.

Fosso Arcą goes down western side of Monti Prenestini. It gives a steep descent with a lot of downclimbing and rappels, in a nice, few engaged, dry canyon.

I remember ...

The Fossi of Prenestini Mounts are the perfect playground in the days of uncertain weather, or when there isn't time to go more far. I come here when I need to move with not much adrenaline, without thoughts, just to relax, to enjoy a beautiful but not very hard environment.
Here I find what I need.
